Ralf Pütmann appointed new Executive Board Member of Kaufhof Warenhaus AG
In its meeting today the Supervisory Board of Kaufhof Warenhaus AG passed the resolution to appoint Ralf Pütmann (37) a member of the Executive Board of Kaufhof Warenhaus AG with immediate effect.
Düsseldorf, 8 March 2002 Herr Pütmann will take over responsibility for the Sales function from the Chairman of the Executive Board, Lovro Mandac, who in addition to his capacity as Director of Industrial Relations will increasingly dedicate his time and energy to the strategic alignment and the expansion of the company in European countries outside Germany.
The objective of creating a separate Sales function at Executive Board level is on the one hand to relieve the work load of the Executive Board and on the other hand to develop the retail brand concept of "Galeria Kaufhof" and, in doing so, to place a greater focus on related measures regarding Sales.
Ralf Pütmann graduated in business administration and has been working for the company in a variety of senior management positions for 11 years. After completing his university studies he acquired comprehensive experience in the management of department stores as well as the introduction of the Galeria concept. His most recent appointment was to the Sales Management Region West where he was responsible for the management of more than 20 stores.
