Karlheinz Kockmann New Board Member of Praktiker AG
Karlheinz Kockmann (56) has been appointed a board member of Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte AG, Kirkel, with effect from 01 December 2001 and will be responsible for Category Management and Marketing.
He succeeds Lars C. Jensen (60) who is leaving the executive board of the company on reaching retirement age.
Karlheinz Kockmann (56) has been appointed a board member of Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte AG, Kirkel, with effect from 01 December 2001 and will be responsible for Category Management and Marketing. He succeeds Lars C. Jensen (60) who is leaving the executive board of the company on reaching retirement age. Kockmann has so far been Chief Operating Officer of Gemex- Trading Ltd., METRO Group’s east Asian import company, based in Hongkong. Together with the other Board Members Michael Arnold (Human Resources and International Business), Walter Weber (Administration) and Wolfgang Werner (Sales) he is expected to pave the way for a successful strategic positioning of Praktiker in the European DIY industry. The Chairman of the Praktiker AG Supervisory Board, Zygmunt Mierdorf, thanked Lars C. Jensen for his dedicated and successful work in the company. With sales of about € 2,6 billion and more than 350 stores in seven European countries Praktiker is one of the industry leaders among DIY retailers in Europe. METRO AG in Düsseldorf is the majority shareholder of Praktiker AG.
