Europe’s leading consumer electronics store comes to Spain

Media Markt opening its first store in Madrid in November

Media Markt, the specialist store for new media, consumer electronics, photography, recording media and electrical household appliances, will open its first store in Spain in November of this year. The outlet, which has 3,500 m² selling space, will offer the complete range of merchandise in San Sebastian de los Reyes, north of Madrid.

This first Media Markt will become the platform for the company’s planned expansion and future blanket coverage in Spain. With approximately 65,000 articles and all the leading brands on offer, as well as the integral service concept, which covers the spectrum from installation of car radios to delivery service, the new provider intends to convince its Spanish customers of its concept very quickly.

The Media Markt and Saturn Group, domiciled in Ingolstadt, Germany, sells computer hard- and software, telecommunications and office communications equipment, new media, consumer electronics, photography and recording media products as well as electrical appliances through more than 240 specialist stores in Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, Poland, The Netherlands and Switzerland. The company has over 13,000 employees in Europe and achieved net sales of DM 9.1 bn in 1998 (1997: DM 7.5 bn).
