No negotiations between METRO and Carrefour

In a preprint, the financial publication, CAPITAL, reported negotiations had taken place between METRO and Carrefour in which Carrefour was to be acquired by METRO via a stock swap.

These negotiations are neither taking place presently, nor have such negotiations taken place in the past. There have been no negotiations regarding any other forms of interlocking capital relationships or negotiations regarding the acquisition of stock capital or any other measures which would lead to a capital participation of METRO in Carrefour or Carrefour in METRO.

The cooperation between the two companies is limited to the known joint efforts in France and Italy.
