What, when, where?

"Meeting Metro - Event 2008" takes place on the 13th of November 2008 in Mannheim (Maimarkthalle) starting at 1 pm.

Where exactly?

Detailed information about the venue, how to get there and, if necessary, accommodation will be included in an information package, which we will send to all participants roughly 4 weeks before the event.

What’s it all about?

In conversations with various representatives of the METRO Group you will attain valuable information about the world of wholesale and retail. You will also be introduced to the exciting prospect of starting a career with Metro and the benefits of the various occupations that the group offers.

Program

Who is invited?

Primarily those who are studying for, or who have already completed, a business, economics, business sciences, business informatics, engineering (architecture, construction), or other economics- or retail-related degree. Participants from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Hessen and Rhineland-Palatinate are especially welcome.

Don´t miss "Meeting Metro" if:

• You would like to obtain first hand information from people at all levels on what day-to-day work with the METRO Group is like
• You want to learn something about the companies that make up the METRO Group and about their activities
• You wish to gather general information about career opportunities in sales, trade logistics, information technology or asset management
• Your studies are focused on retailing or you are about to select your specific study modules

What will happen after I register? Will be given more detailed information on the event?

Year by year we encounter the same problem. The number of students wishing to attend the event greatly exceeds our available capacity. Therefore we will select the required number of participants after the registration period has expired. You will receive subsequent information by email.

How do I get to the meeting and who pays for the travel expenses?

You can get to the event by car, train or plain. We will refund the travelling costs from your home to the event location. Please bear in remind that expenses exceeding € 120 will not be reimbursed.

If you get to the event by car we reimburse 0,30 €/km.

If you get to the event by train second class we need your original ticket after the event.

If you get to the event by plain we need your original ticket after the event.

Detailed information on travelling by car, rail or plain will be included in the information package, which will be sent to all participants about 4 weeks before the event. The pack will contain a form for travel expense reimbursement. Please fill out the form and send it to

after the event has taken place.

Due to logistical difficulties it will not be possible to reclaim travel expenses at the actual event.

Should you live more than 150 km from the event centre Metro will take charge of booking you a hotel and will cover the cost of your overnight accommodation.

Received the invitation - but now I’m unable to attend. What am I to do?

Should you discover that you are unable to attend please inform us as soon as possible so that another applicant can take your place. Here you can contact us: meeting@metro.de.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code but we would suggest smart casual attire.

What time does the event end?

The programme for the day can be looked up under "Meeting Metro - Event 2008 - The Program". We would advise that you should keep your evening free as food and entertainment will be provided after 7pm.
