Chairman Günther Hülse (61) informed the Supervisory Board and the Management Board of the company that he will resign from his office for personal reasons effective with the close of 3 June 2004.
The Management Board of METRO Group has filed an application with the Local Court in Düsseldorf for the appointment by the Court of Prof. Dr. Theo Siegert (57), member of the Management Board of Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, as the succeeding member of the Supervisory Board. The election of the new Supervisory Board chairman will be an item on the agenda of the Supervisory Board meeting scheduled for 4 June 2004.
