Cooperation agreement signed with vocational college in Cologne

Promoting health competence and awareness early on is becoming increasingly important for one's working life. Galeria Kaufhof and METRO Group launched the pilot project "Fit im Berufsleben" [fit at work] to integrate the issues of health and prevention as an integral elements into the curricula of vocational schools.

The Galeria Kaufhof GmbH Supervisory Board in Cologne has appointed Ms. Claudia Reinery (43) as member of the Galeria Kaufhof GmbH Executive Board, with immediate effect, at today's meeting. Ms. Reinery will be responsible for Sales, Marketing and Construction Management departments within the Executive Board.

Nationwide join-in campaign of Galeria Kaufhof, Bild der Frau and TÜV Rhineland: 'Children design the playground of the future'
On the initiative of BILD der FRAU, playgrounds all over Germany were inspected for safety by TÜV Rhineland. The results are alarming: on almost all playgrounds, the experts found severe maintenance and safety deficiencies. In 16 cases, the experts even requested an immediate closing of the play equipment since it posed a danger to children’s lives.

In its meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of Cologne-based Galeria Kaufhof GmbH appointed Ms. Claudia Reinery (42) as member of the Management Board of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH with effect from 1 April 2010 (or earlier). On the Board, Mrs. Reinery will be responsible for Sales, Marketing and Construction Management.

Galeria Kaufhof: Supervisory Board extends contract
In its meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of Cologne-based Galeria Kaufhof GmbH extended the contract of Mr. Lovro Mandac (58), Chairman of the Management Board of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, until the end of 2012. Mandac, who has been heading Galeria Kaufhof since 1994, will continue to focus on the overall strategic orientation of the company and its successful positioning in the department store sector.
